Follow-up and support strategy

The Partnership, supported by some National Agencies, is setting-up a strategy to support former participants of the European Citizenship Training Courses to become active multipliers.

This strategy aims to motivate participants to keep being active in the field of European Citizenship after the training courses, and thus increase the impact of the courses in the long-run.

The main part of this strategy consists of a specific internet platform on European Citizenship, which is intended for all former and future participants, as well as for social workers, NGO activists, researchers, policy-makers and citizens interested in the topic.

This platform aims to:

  • provide relevant background information and documents on European Citizenship;
  • encourage former and future participants to network amongst themselves, look for partners or exchange ideas on future projects linked to European Citizenship;
  • provide participants with some further support from follow-up trainers upon request, if needed.

General address of the European Citizenship platform (open to all): http://www.european-citizenship.org

Address of the restricted platform area (for former participants only, password protected): http://www.european-citizenship.org/sailors

This strategy will help former participants to integrate European Citizenship elements in their daily youth work and projects. Depending on its use, the platform could also become a unique opportunity for them to share practices or questions on European Citizenship with their peers.
