News :

The "Handinnov Europe 2008" competition, organised by the French National Office for Education and Career Information (ONISEP) will reward exemplary practices introduced in each Member State of the European Union and in Europe in favour of young disabled people. The awards ceremony, to be held in Paris at the end of November, will bring together the many competition winners from all over Europe.

Applications must be submitted to the national correspondents of the 27 EU Member States before 25th September.

A European competition

Now in its 5th year, the Handinnov competition is open to each of the 27 Member States of the European Union thanks to the support of key figures, official partners and the intermediary of the European Disability Forum. "Handinnov Europe 2008" will honour innovative practices in favour of young disabled people.

What actions are eligible?

Any exemplary and innovative practice aimed at improving the integration of young people with disabilities into their school, university, working life and society in its broadest sense.

Who can apply?

Associations, schools, training centres, local authorities, public bodies etc. that are legally registered in one of the Member States of the European Union.

How will the awards ceremony be conducted?

An international panel of judges will select one winner per country. Cross-border projects will also be honoured. In November 2008, all the prize winners from the 27 countries will be invited to spend a few days in Paris where they will take part in several prestigious events in the presence of key French and European figures (awards presented at the European Education Fair by Xavier Darcos, French Minister for Education, a reception at the official residence of the Speaker of the National Assembly, events organised by Paris City Hall etc.).

Application deadline

Applications must be submitted by e-mail to the national correspondent in the respective country before 25th September.
