Since several years the DYS is focusing on active youth participation and democratic citizenship as a priority, also other sectors such as the Partnership on Youth between the Council of Europe and the European Commission and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe are working on these issues. During the last years many experiences have been made and many materials have been produced. So far no systematic state of play of all this has been produced to facilitate the multiplication process of the experiences gained and materials produced. DYS now wants to consolidate this knowledge and experience and make it easily accessible to others working on youth participation and active citizenship. Planned is a publication with references and materials as print version, but all contents shall also be made available online at a later stage. DYS can look back at a number of educational activities and materials related to the topic, which will serve as sources of reference and information.The main purpose of this publication is to document the experiences and learning within the DYS about youth participation and active citizenship and to make them available to multipliers across Europe. The publication should be a “ resource book” for people working or intending to work on youth participation based on values of European youth work. The main idea is to valorise existing resources and to create links between them.
