On the occasion of the French presidency of the European Union, the Training Course “EC-FR” (France, 1-7 September, 2008) will indeed be organised in French by the Partnership and the French National Agency of the Youth in Action programme.

The youth event entitled ‘Promoting the Participation of Socially Disadvantaged Youth’ was a European gathering of young people, which hosted 150 young participants from all EU Member States and EFTA countries, three EU candidate countries and the Western Balkans countries.

Conferences and Expert Meetings took place in Brdo on 19-22 April 2008. The directors-general meeting was an opportunity to start discussions on the new cycle of the open method of coordination (OMC) post-2009, which will provide a basis and guidelines for future youth policy. The meeting was also an opportunity to define the long-term prospects in youth policy.
