Dora Giannaki is a political scientist and youth expert. She holds a first degree in Political Science and History from Panteion University (Greece) and a Master’s degree in Political Theory from Essex University (UK). Currently, she is doing a Doctorate on the history of European Youth Policies, at the University of London (UK). She has worked, as Special Advisor, at the Greek General Secretariat for Youth and as Research Associate at the National Accreditation Centre for Continuing Vocational Training. While employed at the General Secretariat for Youth, she had the opportunity to participate, as National Representative, in several European working groups, such as the YOUTH Committee, the Youth Working Party and the European Steering Committee for Youth. She has also represented Greece at the official meetings of the Directors General for Youth of the European Union. Dora has been a correspondent for Greece at the European Knowledge Centre for Youth Policy for two years and has taken part in a variety of European research projects on youth. Dora's main research interests include European Youth Policies & Social History of Youth, Comparative Politics, European Social Democracy, Political Consulting, Feminist Theory, Non Formal & Informal Learning and Animal Rights.
