Intercultural dialogue

Intercultural dialogue is a transversal element and objective embedded in all Euro-Med Youth activities.

Intercultural Dialogue is also a cross-cutting for the Council of Europe and the European Commission. Intercultural dialogue is meant to be an implicit part of all the Euro-Mediterranean activities, in the understand that intercultural dialogue is the concern of everyone. In parallel to this approach, the partnership has also undertaken two training courses on intercultural dialogue together with the Anna Lindh Foundation (focusing on human rights education and on conflict transformation). A third course is foreseen for 2009. The courses have succeeded in creating a better understanding of intercultural dialogue and how it relates to Euro-Mediterranean youth work, and have resulted in several projects undertaken by the participants and supported by the Euro-Med youth programme or the Anna Lindh Foundation.

The course was organised in the framework of the Partnership on Youth between the Council of Europe and the European Commission and in co-operation with the Anna Lindh Euro-Med Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures.
